Video: Little Kid is Fascinated by Lobsters

Being a vegetarian and the parent of a small child I am both slightly horrified and overwhelmed by the cuteness of this video:

From Today’s Big Thing:

Remember, when you were a kid, that magical day when your dad brought home a box of live lobsters? You really wanted to touch them, but you were afraid of them. You acted really adorable about the whole thing. Remember that? No? Imagine it happened, then relive those wonderful memories through this kid.

Middletown Woman Dressed as Cow Gets a Month in Jail

…and in local news:

(Middletown, OH) — Saturday night, people in the 3100 block of Wilbraham Road called police to report a woman wearing a cow costume was chasing kids, and blocking traffic.  Michele Allen also allegedly urinated on the porch of one neighbor. When officers arrived, they told her to go home.  But later that night, they found her again, in the 2400 block of Verity, standing in traffic.  This time, officers say, Allen smelled of alcohol and swore at them. She was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct. Allen plead guilty, Monday morning, in Middletown Municipal Court, and sentenced to a month in jail.

Video: Another Prairie Dog Bites the Dust

Well… I was without internet at home for nearly a week. I’m deeply sad that I missed out on six days of things like this:

This video was an entry for a contest on one of my favorite blogs Cute Overload.

Understanding HDTV

Kara Andrade made a blog post yesterday with this cartoon from the Christian Science Monitor explaining HDTV. We recently got an HDTV after not having any TV for quite a while and I’m inclined to agree with the cartoon’s assessment.

This Peanut Looks Like a Duck

This Peanut Looks Like a Duck

All hail the wonders of the Internet!

Today I came across a great site called This Peanut Looks Like a Duck.

It’s a blog where people post photos of peanuts (and other things) that look like ducks. Some of the hits include This rust spot looks like a duck, This zucchini looks like a duck, This baby drool looks like a duck and recently This General Tso’s chicken looks like a duck.

Enjoy.

There really isn’t much I can say that will enhance this video that I saw in a BoingBoing post today.

Enjoy.

WKRP Redux

A lot of people have sent us nice emails wishing us luck in our move back to Cincinnati but Scott Parker took the cake when he reworked the WKRP theme to fit my particular situation. Awesomeness.

Hey there, if you’ve ever wondered,

Wondered whatever became of me,
I’m living on the web in Cincinnati,
Cincinnati, Web 2.0 for me.

Got kind of tired packing and unpacking,
Town to town, then SF for a while,
Maybe it was all the tie dye out in Berkeley,
Now please don’t forget to FTP that file…

I’m at Web Two Zero P in Cincinnati..

For those of you who are under 30 (or from outside North America) here’s a large group rendition of the song led by Booty Collins to help you learn the tune.

Mark Celsor Wins Second Place in Wired’s Saddest-Cubicle Contest

A few years back my old office in San Francisco flooded, everyone crowded into the second floor office, and I set up a make-shift desk with an old filing cabinet. A photo of these incredibly lame working conditions has earned me my 15-minutes of internet fame with second place in Wired’s Saddest-Cubicle Contest. I was edged out by a guy who was surrounded by filing cabinets and jammed into the corner of a conference room, so I missed out on the fancy, $19, robot-shaped, web cam, grand prize.

Check out The ‘Winners’ of the Wired News Saddest-Cubicle Contest to see my situation and some of the other entries.
